We flew into Twin Lakes in Lake Clark National Park, spent a couple days hiking, floated down the Chilikadrotna River and then a few miles down the Mulchatna River. It was a great trip, with decent weather, excellent hiking, and fun floating. The Chilikadrotna is mostly swift water with only one class III in a short canyon section. I don't have pictures of that section - with the high water we weren't easily able to stop and scout so we just bombed through. There were a bunch of logjams and sweepers on the lower river, but they were in places where the river had braided out into the forest and wasn't as big or pushy. We saw lots of birds, had plenty of sunshine, and Aven and Isabelle seemed to have fun. I call that a success.
