We found about half the normal snow at Gulkana Glacier this spring. There was a lot of blue ice showing and most of the snow that was there was rock hard wind-board. On the up side we had lots of sunshine, spectacular northern lights, and the snowpits were easy to dig.
I think mr snopit was a little disappointed by the diminutive pits this yearMoore IcefallThe northern lights started out with a green ribbon overhead just after sunsetAnd they just kept getting betterDan collecting GPR in the west BranchEmily working on the Nunatak Weather StationThe crew at the lowest site on the glacierOur camp
