We spent a couple of days in Chugchilán. This area is not wilderness; rather, it is densely populated agricultural land. Nevertheless, it is an incredibly beautiful area. The locals here eke out a living from really rough looking farmland, mostly on the sides of steep mountains. As we were headed back to Quito we stopped to see the market in Zumbahua, which was really cool. I think we saw one other person that looked like a tourist in the two hours we wandered through the market.
