It got really hazy and smoky for a couple of days. Descending into Twelvemile Creek we spotted an enormous brown hump in a patch of willows. For a hot minute we were concerned that it might be the largest aklak in the Brooks Range. When it turned out to be an oomingmak (muskox) we were much relieved.
