Bryn Clark preparing for the canyon section of the Hulahula River at the confluence with Esetuk Creek. Here the river is cutting through harder Dolomite of the Katakturuk Formation, and transporting plenty of Granite glacial erratics from nearby Mt. Michelson. This combination creates class 3 or 3+ whitewater. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Brooks Range, Alaska. August 2006
